Well lots of people have been posting about the Wii online services ending this June? My thoughts?
They are ONLY shutting down the channels! Who uses them anymore anyway? Do you go to Everybody Votes, Weather Channel, News Channel, etc? They aren't shutting down the Virtual Service or Nintendo Wi-Fi connection! These are channels almost nobody uses. Some of these channels you used when you first got the Wii (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, or 2012) but then you most likely never used them again. Most of you don't care about voting for Mii's and you got ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC, etc for your news and weather. Another feature removed is the sharing of Mii's and that's the only feature I don't agree about it getting shut down
As it says in a CNET interview "The channels have been around for more than six years but currently have a "very low participation rate."", that's proof right there that no one uses them anymore. I'm guessing the Wii Virtual Service and Wi-Fi connection around summer 2013 will be removed. As Rich from ReviewTechUSA stated "Give it a year or two for people to ease into it" and I agree, the Wii U doesn't have any real best sellers yet so to get rid of the Wii online services that are most used would backfire on them. A YouTuber by the name of ProtoMario stated "Microsoft Supported Halo 2 until 2010" and for all we know Nintendo could do the same....
Anyway that's my thoughts on this, no big deal its just stuff you forgot existed anyway.
